Ok so the last time I was in Indy it wasn’t for comedy. I was helping a girl I was dating at the time move some stuff from her moms house back to knoxville But nevermind about that cheating whore.
This time was incredibly fun it started after a 14 hour drive from Myrtle beach to do a hipster bar called the Sinking Ship. For my Memphians it looks just like the young avenue deli with the coined crowd of the p&h and bosco’s squared. The show was run by a local comic Cam and included Stan Chen, Mary Jordan, Andy Fleming, both Kilines local Indy comic Dj dangler and I headlined. Tired, tipsy and needing sleep I followed Stephen Kline. Had them from the jump weaving material together both new and old dark and darker including Doug Stanhope favorite of my bits. the club erotica story that’s when thing lost control. A heckler interrupted me with whine of “get to the point”. Rarely do I get pissed at a heckler, I did here. When the crowd is being killed and some drunk woman just wants to start trouble I handle it. I ran off stage found the loud bitch and verbally Ike turner’d her till her boyfriend made her feel stupid as well. Ran back on stage did 10 min and got a standing ovation. Apparently I’m only the second comic to get one in this bar. The other Stuart Huff. Check him out sometimes. He’s very funny. This was only the first night of what became a three show three night 2 radio show run that made me have more fun than I’ve had in a long time. More to come
